I have worked as an English high school teacher for about five years.  I am in the process of securing my elementary school license to teach younger students.​



Why did you sign up?
​I believe it is important to volunteer because it is a humbling and spiritually rewarding experience.  Ever since I was young I valued going to India because it made me appreciate and value what I have.  The poverty in certain parts of India is overwhelming and it forces you to look at life differently.  At the same time the culture and the people are so rich that it leaves a mark on you.

What do you hope to get out of the experience?

​I am really looking forward to meeting people and to be humbled by their presence.  Often it seems the less fortunate may be richer in spirit and may have more to spiritually offer than we have.
